International "Guardians of Tradition" Award

Taking up the torch from Arequipa's "Sociedad Picantera" (Peru), who took the award in 2022, the "cholita" mountaineers will be honoured this year for their defence of indigenous pride and tradition, their fight for gender equality and their work as high-mountain chefs at the Andes climbing camps.
