A staunch defender of the countryside and its way of life.
Elio Ferpel (a combination of the surnames Fernández and Peláez) grew up in his parents' restaurant and, after training in Galicia and working in kitchens all over Spain, decided to bring a radically different style to the family restaurant. Ferpel Gastronómico was born, a restaurant that pays homage to village life and has been awarded a Michelin star.
Elio has expanded the business and his current projects include LoLo,Ka Lab, a tavern in the Plaza de Abastos where he practices a more casual cuisine, the gastronomic shop Mantequerías Mercedes, the San Lorenzo sausage factory and the Ferpel Eventos division.
