'Guisanderas' and chefs at Casa Lula (Tineo, Asturias)

Mayte Álvarez got into the business because of her boyfriend, but she also fell in love with the profession, which her daughter now has to carry on.

She studied economics in Oviedo, but left to train in the groom's family business, where she also learnt thanks to her mother-in-law, Adina González.

Blanca, on the other hand, was born in Casa Lula and grew up in the kitchen with her grandmother and mother. She went to Barcelona to study hotel management and tourism, and after working in hotels in the UK and Pola de Somiedo, she decided to return to Casa Lula.
